Troubleshooting Upload Errors

Having trouble uploading your transactions? Here are the most common issues and how to fix them.

"File Format Not Recognized"

Cause: The file isn't in a supported format (CSV, OFX, or QFX). Solution:
  1. Check the file extension
  2. If it's .xlsx or .xls, open in Excel and Save As CSV
  3. Make sure the file isn't corrupted
  4. "No Transactions Found"

Cause: The file doesn't contain transaction data in a format we recognize. Solution:
    1. Open the file in a text editor
    2. Check that it has Date, Description, and Amount columns
    3. Ensure there's actual data below the headers
    4. Try a different date range from your bank
    5. "Invalid Date Format"

Cause: Dates aren't in a recognizable format. Solution:

      We recognize these formats:

      • YYYY-MM-DD (2026-01-15)
      • MM/DD/YYYY (01/15/2026)
      • DD/MM/YYYY (15/01/2026)

If your dates look different, try reformatting in Excel before uploading.

      "File Too Large"

Cause: The file exceeds our 10 MB limit. Solution:
      1. Try a shorter date range
      2. Split into multiple files
      3. Remove unnecessary columns
      4. "Duplicate Transactions Detected"

Cause: Some transactions already exist in your account. Solution:

This is normal! We automatically skip duplicates. You'll only see new transactions added.

        "Amount Column Not Found"

Cause: We can't identify which column contains the transaction amounts. Solution:
        1. Make sure the column header says "Amount" or "Debit/Credit"
        2. Remove any currency symbols if possible
        3. Ensure amounts are numbers, not text
