Next Move Money accepts three main file formats for transaction uploads. Here's everything you need to know about each one.
CSV (Comma-Separated Values)
Most Common Format - Nearly all banks support CSV export.What We Look For
Your CSV file should include these columns:
- Date - When the transaction occurred
- Description - Merchant name or transaction details
- Amount - Transaction amount (positive or negative)
Optional but helpful columns:
- Category
- Account
- Balance

OFX (Open Financial Exchange)
Quicken Format - Used by Quicken and many financial institutions.Advantages
- Includes more metadata than CSV
- Standardized format across banks
- Preserves transaction IDs
- Better for investment accounts
QFX (Quickbooks Financial Exchange)
Quickbooks Format - Similar to OFX but optimized for Quickbooks.Advantages
- Great for business accounts
- Includes business-specific fields
- Works well with accounting software
File Size Limits
- Maximum file size: 10 MB
- Maximum transactions: 50,000 per upload
- Date range: No limit
Unsupported Formats
We currently don't support:
- PDF bank statements (coming soon!)
- Excel files (.xlsx or .xls) - Please save as CSV first
- Proprietary bank formats
